Powell River Public Library
Now open to the community, the new Powell River Public Library is a dynamic cultural hub and an inviting destination that sparks learning, creativity, and connection for residents of all ages.
Our team at echoic was proud to support its development, providing comprehensive space planning, custom shelving solutions, and curated furniture selections that bring warmth, function, and character to every area of the facility.
The vision for the library was rooted in creating a welcoming, intuitive environment that feels comfortable, accessible, and inspiring from the moment visitors walk through the door. Every detail, from the layout of the collection areas to the choice of furnishings, was designed to support exploration, engagement, and community use.
Much of the project's success came from its collaborative delivery. All shelving and furnishings were coordinated and managed directly through the general contractor, which kept communication smooth and the execution unified from start to finish. Working this way allowed us to partner closely with everyone involved and make sure each design decision fit naturally with the architectural vision and the community's goals.
The completed library is bright and modern, enriched with natural materials and thoughtful design touches. Purpose-built spaces, including a children's zone, quiet study areas, flexible meeting rooms, and technology-enabled workspaces, support a wide range of programs and needs.
With its modern layout, inviting atmosphere, and community-focused amenities, the Powell River Public Library reflects the values and aspirations of the region it serves. It's far more than a place for books. It's a community hub where people come together to gather, learn, explore, and connect, and echoic is honoured to have helped create such a meaningful and lasting public space.
